Bar-B-Q expert "Big Bob" Gibson started cooking in his back yard in the 1920's. He opened his first restaurant several years later with a vision of creating the best BBQ restaurant in Morgan County, Alabama. With no great surprise he succeeded.

His children have all followed his lead and each became great cooks and restaurant owners. His daughter Velma, along with husband Paul Hampton, came to Huntsville in 1956 to look for a spot for their restaurant. Out in the cotton fields south of town, a chance meeting with farmer Fleming started the process that brought us to where we are today.

The business is still owned and operated by the same family which is now in its 4th generation. After 58 years in Huntsville, Gibson's is still recognized as the place to go for delicious BBQ Pork, Chicken, Ribs, Beef, as well as our "Fresh Baked Pies", Daily Breakfast, and an award winning Catering Service.
