Barbecue connoisseur "Big Bob" Gibson donned the chef's hat in his back yard in the 1920s. His first restaurant aimed at creating the best BBQ restaurant in Morgan County, Alabama. His success is evident today. His children followed his lead, becoming great cooks and restaurant owners. His daughter Velma and husband Paul Hampton came to Huntsville in 1956 to look for a spot for their restaurant. Out in the cotton fields in the southern part of the town, a chance meeting with farmer Fleming accelerated the process that led to our success today.
The business is still owned and operated by the Gibsons, now in its fourth generation. Even after 65 years in Huntsville, Gibson's is trusted for delicious BBQ pork, chicken, ribs, beef, freshly baked pies, and daily breakfast. Check out what you've been missing!
